Five Steps to Getting your Foreign Currency Permit

Instructions for Foreign Currency Permit Application

DIRECTIONS FOR FILING AN INITIAL APPLICATION FOR A FOREIGN CURRENCY PERMIT…

 

  1. File all relevant incorporation documents with Corporate Affairs and Intellectual Property (CAIPO) as is customary.
  2. Place in the drop-box provided at CAIPO, the application form for the Foreign Currency Permit (FCP), together with documentation and all relevant and associated documents.  These are to be in a sealed envelope marked “PRIVATE and CONFIDENTIAL” and addressed to “Director, International Business Unit, Ministry of International Business and Industry.  Kindly note that a copy of the Reservation of ‘Name Form’ must accompany the application for the FCP.
  3. The non-refundable application fee for the FCP of BDS$250.00 must be paid at CAIPO and the cheque made to “The Registrar of Corporate Affairs.”
  4. When the FCP is ready and available for collection, the Service Provider will receive an email notification of same. Kindly present this notification to CAIPO. The Permit fee of BDS$1,000.00 must then be paid to CAIPO in a cheque made to “Registrar of Corporate Affairs.”
  5. Thereafter, kindly present your receipt to the IBU for the collection of the FCP.
